I got frequent questions asking how to get up early? Before asking how, you should ask yourself ‘WHY’. Why you want to get up early? It is to reinforce yourself the reason. Knowing the reason will help you to accomplish the goal wholeheartedly.
We often complain that we should have more than 24 hours in a day. Recently I read an article saying that Indians spent around 17 hours in a week on social media. As per the latest data it is the highest amount of time on social media in the world and it is bordering on addiction. Then how can we say that we don’t get enough time. It is not that we don’t get time but don’t have a better utilization of time.
Early morning won’t have much distractions and we can focus on the works which need concentration. After getting married, most people spend their time for the family and never focus on the self-growth. If we get up early, we will get ample amount of time to spend on yourself. We can do a self-analysis and get involved in activities for self-growth.
How to get up early?
Take it slowly
If you are a 7 o’clock person and want to get up at 6 AM make gradual changes. Don’t attempt to be at 6 in a day. It is said that waking up in the REM sleep (Rapid Eye Movement- A stage of sleep) will make you feel tired. So, keeping track of your sleep will help you to find the duration of REM stage.
Make a club who wants to get up early. You can discuss what you did during that time and how effective it was. Many people with same objective will help to remind you from time to time the reason for waking up and help you to stay motivated.
Never press the Snooze button when your alarm goes off. Trying this many time will condition yourself to get up when alarm goes off
Early to bed
Don’t spend too much time on social media before going to bed. You can use that time for reading.
As morning time is highly productive you can do the works in shorter time than usual. Learning or doing what you love will make your life enjoyable.
